Here Comes Everybody

Role: Creative Producer for Francis Upritchard

Artist/Designer:

Curator:

Location: Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia

Date: 2021 - 2022

The transformation of the Art Gallery of New South Wales – the Sydney Modern Project – opened to the public on 3rd December 2022.

The Sydney Modern Project is the most significant cultural development in the city since the opening of the Sydney Opera House nearly half a century ago, and Francis Upritchard was commissioned to create a permanent artwork in the entrance plaza to great visitors as they arrived. Upritchard created 3 towering fantastical figures, inspired by mythology, folklore and the surrounding Moreton Bay fig trees. Enticing visitors of all ages, Upritchard’s playful bronze beings are workers, collaborators, creators and guardians who, in the artist’s words, ‘ready your mind to be receptive to anything’.
